Southfield birthing center offers free program for pregnant, new mothers
(SOUTHFIELD, MI) Nine Short Months Birth and Community Wellness Center in Southfield introduces a new, free monthly program for pregnant and new mothers to help prepare them for life with their baby.
Called Community Birth Circle, this group will meet monthly on Mondays at 6 pm beginning Sept. 10.
Community Birth Circle provides an opportunity to talk with other new mothers, share experiences and concerns, ask questions and learn from experts on a variety of subjects of interest to those attending.
Guest speakers will provide information on nutrition, babywearing, breastfeeding, prenatal yoga, acupuncture, and other birth-related topics chosen by participants. Goal of this program is to create a positive birth experience as well as a new parenting educational opportunity.
The staff at Nine Short Months Birth and Community Wellness Center knows new parents have a lot of questions about their new baby, and the staff wants to help you find the answers so you can be as prepared as possible for life as a new parent. The program is a great way to get parenthood off to the right start. Staff will provide you with everything you need to know when caring for yourself and your baby.
Niku Rice, birth doula with Nine Short Months, serves as the program’s facilitator.
All pregnant women and women with newborns are welcome to join the group. You do not have to be a patient of Nine Short Months Birth and Community Wellness Center.
